Brighten Bike Rides with RipLITE™

It was late July and the dog days of summer were in full swing.  I hang with a small group of recreational mountain bike riders.  We're not pros, but not beginners either.  We get out and ride around once a week.

Unfortunately, it was hot.  Too hot for an afternoon ride.  The forecast said it would cool off after sunset, and... what was this?  It happened to be a FULL MOON, which meant perfect NIGHT riding conditions.

We rallied the troops.  7 was the final count with 4 who had never been on a night ride.  The group showed up at 9pm and we quickly found that our light situation was sub-par, to say the least.  We had a mish-mosh of different headlamps, straps and 2 flashlights.

Considering this was an intermediate single track trail, holding a flashlight was a very bad idea. That left the team jerry-rigging headlamps and their elastic straps around bike helmets, and in some cases triple wrapped around the handlebar T's.  It ultimately worked, but man, it was a shit show.  Our 9pm start pushed to 9:45 before all seven of us were squared away and ready to roll.

The RipLITE™ Solution:

Sound familiar?  If you've even taken your mountain or road bike out for evening ride, this story resonates.  It may have even prompted you to invest in a very expensive helmet that lights up.  Or maybe you purchased a purpose built and bulky light that fits your bike? Which you used exactly twice and have since removed.

There is another way.  Introducing the RipLITE™ as a simple, effective, low-key, and multi-use way for you to illuminate your night rides.

RipLITE™ + RipSTRIP™ for your Helmet and Bike

Every HOOK backed RipLITE™ comes with 2 RipSTRIP™ straps.  The RipSTRIPs securely wrap around your bicycle helmet and/or handlebar "T" so that the LOOP side of the RipSTRIP™ will attach the RipLITE™.

1) Here is a RipSTRIP™ strap and RipLITE™ Blaze. The RipSTRIP™ is made of hook on one side and loop on the other to attach to itself.

2) Simply weave the RipSTRIP™ through your bike helmet.  Bell and GIRO helmets are pictured, but there is no affilliation.

PRO TIP:  Our RipSTRIPs are 20 inches long.  You won't need that much for your bike helmet.  Don't be shy and cut the RipSTRIP™ to a length that fits your helmet.

3) For your handlebar T, simply wrap the RipSTRIP™ over and under.  It is very easy and will take one minute.  I did use all 24 inches of the strap on my bike and think you will have a similar experience.

Remember:  Every RipLITE™ comes with two 24 inch RipSTRIP™ straps.  That means choices.  You can attach the RipLITE™ to your helmet or your handlebars.

4) Does it work?  Hell yeah!  We've ripINVENTed™ headlamps with the RIGHT combinations of HOOK + LOOP.  The RipLITEs™ connection to your bike is very secure and tight even in technical terrain.  The RipLITE™ will not fall off during your ride.

That's me and that's it.  The RipLITE™ is simple, effective, low-key, and multi-functional.  You can interchange and attach the same RipLITE™ headlamp to your RipHEAD™ cap or your RipFISH™ backpack.

The RipLITE™ headlamp will be available in our upcoming Kickstarter launch!  Subscribe now to be the first to know when we launch, and to be eligible for some awesome pre-campaign (early bird) promotions!  Sign up at the bottom of this page.
