RipFISH is the FIRST designer, builder and brand of "hook-and-loop" apparel and accessories.  Baseball caps and backpacks are BETTER when you can easily attach and interchange patches, lapels and wearable headlamps.  We enable personalization and functionality so that you can SAY and DO more.  RipFISH is a Better Way to Wear!  So... NOT a fishing company.

We simply LOVE "hook-and-loop" as a technology and the sound of "ripping" one of our RipTAG™ patches away from a RipHEAD™ cap or a  RipFISH™ backpack is sweet music to our ears!  All of our products are made of premium hook-and-loop material, and the action of ripping is synonymous with ALL of our brands.  

We don't own the brand "rip", but we have trademarked RipHEAD™ for caps, RipFISH™ for backpacks, RipTAG™ for patches, RipLITE™ for headlamps, RipTILE™ for lapels, RipBOARD™ for displays, RipSTRIP™ for straps and Ripperoo™ for stuffed animals.

Confusing, right?  "Hook-and-Loop" was invented and patented in 1955.  It was then trademarked in 1956 under... wait for it... the VELCRO® brand mark.  While the patent has long since expired, the Velcro Companies still make, market and sell "hook-and-loop" products under the VELCRO® Brand.  

Whew. This simply means that VELCRO® is one BRAND of "hook-and-loop" that is offered by the Velcro Companies.  There are OTHER brands and other companies who make, market and sell "hook-and-loop" fabric and material.  

RipFISH buys raw "hook-and-loop" fabric and material sold by the Velcro Companies.  We also buy "hook-and-loop" from OTHER companies. Our goal is always to bring you the BEST that "hook-and-loop" has to offer in our finished goods RipHEAD™ caps, RipFISH™ backpacks and RipTAG™ patches.  

Nope. It is called "hook-and-loop", and VELCRO® is one brand of hook-and-loop.  RipFISH respects the history, integrity, and the tradenames of the Velcro Companies.  We love the quality and innovation offered in the  VELCRO® Brand of hook-and-loop fabrics and material.

Our favorite question!  We get it.  Hook-and-loop has historically been a fuzzy, scratchy, birds nest of ugly.   Rest assured, RipFISH does not use your fathers fuzzy hook-and-loop!  There is a huge difference in industrial hook-and-loop and the premium material used for our colorful caps and backpacks.

That said, by it's very nature hook-and-loop will connect together and then you "rip" it apart.  There will be wear-and-tear with our products that you will not get with a plain jane baseball cap or backpack... BUT then you don't get the advantages of interchaning RipTAG™ patches to and from your cap.  And you won't be able to seamlessly attach cool stuff like our RipLITE™ headlamps.  A little fuzz is a small price to pay for a better way to wear caps and backpacks!

Every cap will wear out over time, even our RipHEAD™ caps.  The beautiful thing about a RipHEAD™ cap is that the RipTAG™ patch design won't wear out!  Our RipTAG™ patches are portable and will attach to a different or new RipHEAD™ cap when yours wears out. 

The ability to attach, detach, interchange and ultimately customize your cap is the reason you are considering a RipHEAD™ cap in the first place.  Please know that our caps will wear out over time just like a normal cap, but our RipTAG™ patch designs are forever!
